Encouraging the terrorists is a dangerous game
Faleh Al Saadi – Iraq
01.12.2006
Almost every week we hear from an American or an European
official or media institution a release or a statement which
gives the terrorists the feeling, that they succeed in what
they do.
Recently a CIA survey was published saying that terrorism
is stronger than ever before.
But is this true ?
Despite all the terrible attacks on innocent civilians in
Iraq the terrorists could not bring down the Iraqi state or
its elected government. Since the attacks in London on 7.July
2005 and Madrid on 11.March 2004 AlQaeda didn’t manage to
commit another suicide bombing outside the Muslim world.
It becomes obvious , that the statement of the CIA survey
is not true.
If it is not true, why was it published ?
The answer is simple: The senate election in the USA this
November.
To increase the chances, democrats have to point out, that
the republicans and especially Bush have lost the war on terror.
This is dangerous, because Iraqi people and American soldiers
are paying the tribute for this game with their lives. Messages
like these tell the terrorists that they are succeeding in
the war against the US and the Iraqi people. This encourage
them to carry out more and more attacks.
We have to stop accuse each other of failure.
We might not share the same opinion, but we share the same
goal, to fight and beat terrorism.
How can I as an Iraqi convince other people to fight against
terrorism, if some British or American officers tells newspapers
and TV channels, that they are not sure of the victory?
We Iraqis want to undertake every thing to defeat the terrorists
and chase them out of Iraq. To achieve this goal we need the
help of all countries, which are interested in defeating terrorism.
Now we have a constitution and a parliament that has been
chosen by the Iraqi people. All ethnic and religious groups
are represented in it. The so called resistance is also represented
in this Parliament through the Sunni parties. The existence
of this parliament alone is something to be proud of, and
something we have to defend by all means.
The indiscriminate killing of innocent civilians itself is
significant for the weakness, not for the strength of those
terrorists.
The war against terrorism in Middle East will be decided in
Iraq.
We must work together against terrorism in Iraq und elsewhere.
The only choice we have is the victory.
